Orchestral work in three movements//

How do you describe falling from a cliff into the water……//
How do you describe the silence that comes with it…….//
The fear of what’s to come//……and the excitement of the fall itself…….//
If we only let ourselves enjoy the fall we will be able to enjoy the silence……//

This orchestral three movement fall was writing itself // I was going along with long held notes and then adding little events to remind the long notes there is something contrary, but they seemed to be persistent enough to hold the music together.
If I was falling from a cliff, I believe I would be hearing long held notes//

I wanted to give the sensation of a prolonged movement without action// let the action come all of a sudden….just like fear//

This work was inspired by the score I had written for the SCETV documentary “Forgotten Founder” of the Carolina Stories Series that was aired September 2010.
